DEPUTY DIRECTOR, LAND ADMINISTRATION, – FOUR (4) POSTS - V/NO. 114/2016
Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will deputize the Director, Land Administration on all matters pertaining to the overall function of the Division and represent the director in various technical forums as may be assigned. Specific duties and responsibilities in line with the relevant will entail:
(i) approving extension and/or change of user from one category of land use to another;
(ii) issuing consents for various transactions of leasehold land;
(iii) processing of subdivision applications in respect of private land;
(iv) verifying and authenticating land documents for issuance of leases/title deeds;
(v) authenticating leases presented to the Chief Land Registrar for execution and subsequent registration; and
(vi) providing technical advice relating to land administration to various government and private institutions.
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
(i) at least fifteen (15) years cumulative service, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Assistant Director, Land Administration, Job Group ‘P’ and above or in a relevant and equivalent position in the Civil Service;
(ii) a Bachelors Degree in either Land Economics, Estate Management or any other relevant Social Science from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) attended strategic leadership course from a recognized institution; and
(iv) shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Note: Possession of a relevant Master’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage
