DIRECTOR, LAND ADMINISTRATION - ONE (1) POST - V/NO. 113/2016
Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will be responsible to the Secretary, Land for efficient administration, organization, direction and coordination of the functions of the land administration division. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:
(i) formulating, implementing and reviewing of the national land administration
policy, strategies and guidelines in line with relevant laws;
(ii) ensuring that standards for various types of land administration are adhered to;
(iii) providing guidelines and regulations for development control aimed at regulating the manner in which land is utilized;
(iv) providing general principles of land administration as guided by various Acts and regulations; and
(v) giving technical advice on matters pertaining to parliamentary questions and ligation issues as far as Land Administration is concerned.
For appointment as to this grade, a candidate must have:
(i) a cumulative service period of eighteen (18) years, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Senior Assistant Director, Land Administration (Job Group ‘Q’) and above or in relevant and equivalent position in the Civil Service;
(ii) a Bachelors Degree in either Land Economics, Estate Management or any other relevant social science from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) attended a Strategic Leadership Development course from a recognized institution;
(iv) demonstrated a high degree of professional, administrative and managerial competence in work performance required for effective management of Land Administration function.
Note: possession of a relevant Masters degree from a university recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage
