DIRECTOR, LAND VALUATION - ONE (1) POST - V/NO. 116/2016
Duties and Responsibilities
An officer at this level will be responsible to the Secretary, Lands for providing leadership in the Valuation function. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
(i) formulating, implementing and reviewing policies, strategies and programs
(ii) relating to valuation services;
(iii) offering leadership as the overall in charge of valuation matters in the National
(iv) advising Government in valuation matters both locally and internationally; (v) developing standards and laws governing valuation practice;
(vi) instituting operational accountability and transparency in valuation function; (ii) managing the human, financial and other assets in the division; and
(i) securing and managing financial support for the development of the land valuation
For appointment as to this grade a candidate must have:
(i) a cumulative service period of eighteen (18) years, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Senior Assistant Director, Land Valuation (Job Group ‘Q’) and above or in relevant and equivalent position in the Public Service;
(ii) a Bachelors Degree in either Land Economics, Estate Management or its equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) been a full member of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) Chapter of
Valuation and Estate Management Surveyors;
(iv) attended a strategic leadership course in a recognized institution; and
(v) demonstrated a high degree of professional, administrative and managerial competence in work performance required for effective management of land valuation function.
Note: possession of a relevant Masters degree from a university recognized in Kenya will be an added advantage
