Senior Assistant Director, National Registration (Persons) - Seven (7) Posts V/no.69/2016
Duties and Responsibilities
(i) initiating the review of rules, regulations, guidelines and policies on Registration of Persons;
(ii) identifying and registering eligible applicants for National Identity cards;
(iii) mobilizing and sensitizing the public on requirements for registration and issuance of National Identity Cards;
(iv) collaborating with Government Ministries/Departments and other agencies on matters relating to registration of persons;
(v) recommending investigations and prosecution of offences committed under the Registration of Persons Act;
(vi) analyzing and compiling registration of persons reports; and
(vii) ensuring maintenance of application registers for National Identity Cards.
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
(i) served for a cumulative period of fifteen (15) years, three (3) of which must have been at the grade of Principal Registration Officer (Persons) Job Group ‘N’ and above, or equivalent and comparable position in the Public Service;
(ii) a Bachelors Degree in any of the following Social Science disciplines: Sociology, Economics, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Education, Population Studies, Anthropology, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Administration/Government from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) a Masters Degree in any of the following disciplines: Sociology, Economics, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Education, Gender Studies, Statistics, Public Policy, Governance and Ethics, Population Studies, Anthropology, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Administration/Government from a university recognized Kenya;
(iv) attended a Strategic Leadership course in a recognized institution; and
(v) demonstrated professional competence and administrative ability in work performance and results.
